Do you know how to use a cheap button compass beyond the cardinal points of N,S,E,W here's one trick.This is called the "Aiming Point" or "Stake Method"First, you need button compass, paracord thread, or some other string and a military or enhanced Protractor.-Feed the string through the center hole of the Protractor and attach the string to either a stake or rock, look for a terrain feature you want to travel to and place the stake or rock in line with that feature, pull the string taunt.- Turn the Protractor to zero in line with the string. Place the compass on the Protractor Now turn the Protractor until North lines up with North, and the East/West line is equally lined up.Look at your heading, and you will see the exact degree reading of your direction of travel.
