Dr. Seuzz yes it was in the rear. And rear wheel drive made the car formidable in inclement weather. But after correcting my typo, air cooled engines have no water/antifreeze, therefore steam isn't easily possible...

Rex Gillespie I really don't have that much in depth knowledge of cars. VW bugs = German car from childhood = Was fascinated by the rubber band that made the engine in the rear work LOL

Dr. Seuzz not many air cooled systems out there on cars. Most engines these days are water cooled.
