this strangely-patterned northern cardinal has albinism, and has been playfully dubbed ‘the pink cardinal’. while albinism often results in pure white animals, and leucism results in patchy or dilute coloration, this animal’s lack of pigment in the eyes and skin indicate it is a true albino.
