A friend of mine played by the rules to become a naturalized citizen. Came to Canada on a student visa, then got work permits, once expired, left the country w/o making a fuss, came back as a permanent resident, until she got hr citizenship. And her canadian passport is not a “passport of convinience” like leabaneses did aseveral years ago: got the citizenship, move back to Leabanon, and when the shit hit the fan, Canada had no other choice then spend time, money and manpower to evacuate them 🤬Another friend became a naturalised american. Same stuff, got sponsored by her husband, and had to stay in the US for several years. Had to get a special waiver to go see her father who was ill at one point and to be allowed back in the States.
